Update: This business has ceased its operations.

Formerly a dessert stall at Sungai Dua, Sweet-i (甜在心糖水屋) currently occupies a shop in Taman Lip Sin. It is within a short walking distance from Phor Tay High School (菩提国民型华文中学) where plenty of parking is available after school hours.

This eatery offers a comprehensive list of sweet desserts, particularly Cantonese tong sui (糖水). The menu varies on daily basis, but the popular ones are available on most days.

One dessert which struck my interest is Bo Bo Cha Cha (香草薯粉条么么喳喳, RM5.50).

This delightfully sweet dessert is made from coconut milk (椰浆) and is best enjoyed warm.

The main ingredient which makes Bo Bo Cha Cha appealing is sweet potato. In fact, Sweet-i provides 3 different types: yellow, purple and red sweet potatoes (黄、紫、红番薯). Taro (芋头) is also thrown into the mix, making this starchy dessert even more satisfying.

Another integral constituent of this dessert is tapioca flour (薯粉). The red-dyed jelly pieces work well with the sugary soup. Other ingredients in this dessert are black-eyed peas (眉豆) and little pearls of sago (西米), all contributing to a satisfying dessert treat.

Open from afternoon to late night, Sweet-i is a lovely place to visit for hearty desserts at affordable prices. Wi-Fi is also available for customers’ convenience.
