Located near Naan Corner Restaurant in Ampang, Nur Satay is one of the more popular satay stalls in Klang Valley. The kiosk is operated by a pair of Malay youths, who are continuously multitasking between cooking, serving and taking orders on phone. At its busiest, Nur Satay may take more than 30 minutes to fulfill an order.

We tried the Satay Ayam (chicken skewers), which is reasonably priced at RM0.80. This order comes with complimentary cucumber and onions. Spicy peanut sauce is also provided as dipping sauce.

Thanks to rich marinade of turmeric, the chicken is very succulent. The flesh consists of good mixture of lean and fatty meat. Although satay is expected to be oily, Nur Satay manages the grease subtly well. Overall, this chicken is highly enjoyable and most recommended.

As for the spicy peanut sauce, I feel that it is slightly dilute. It is preferable for the sauce to be made thicker, such that peanut chunks can better cling on to the skewers.

Besides chicken, other types of satay are beef, beef stomach and liver. Ketupat is also available. Despite non-stop business, the proprietors remain friendly and courteous to customers. Such spirit is most commendable.
