Update: This business has ceased its operations.
Chocolate Passion is located at Burmah Road (Jalan Burma). It is right next to Chinese Recreation Club (CRC). This shop also serves as the central kitchen for two other outlets: Gurney Paragon and Auto-City.
As the name implies, Chocolate Passion specializes in artisan chocolates. In addition, there is a café-style food menu to cater for dine-in customers.
At Chocolate Passion, the chocolates are all made by hand. There are more than two dozen types available. Packaged in elegant boxes of 10 or 18 pieces, the chocolates make excellent gifts.
Grilled Chicken Caesar Wholemeal Baguette (RM17.90) is served with chips on the side. Baguette, a French bread, has delectable chewy texture because it is made from lean dough. However, the seasoning of chicken is somewhat lacking in comparison to the bread.
Our other order is the Smoked Salmon Cheese & Herbs Focaccia Sandwich (RM17.90). Focaccia is an Italian bread that has similar texture as pizza dough. The smoked salmon is reasonably appetizing but I feel that it can benefit from more salt. I also think that more cream cheese works in its favor.
The hot cup of Cappuccino (RM9.90) is quite creamy due to the presence of steamed milk.
The other drink is an iced Café Latte (RM10.90). Due to diminished aroma, it is difficult to appreciate good coffee when it is served cold.
Overall, the sandwiches at Chocolate Passion are acceptable in taste but there is room for improvement. For my next visit, I should try its signature handcrafted chocolates.
