Just behind HSBC bank at Bandar Baru Klang is Osaka Japanese Restaurant (大阪). This modest-looking eatery is quite small. Not counting the sushi bar, there are less than 10 dining tables in total.
Responding to sudden craving for raw fish, it is no surprise that our first choice is Sashimi Bento (刺身弁当, RM43.99).
There are 3 types of sashimi (刺身) – salmon (サーモン), butterfish (白マグロ) and tuna (マグロ). There are 3 thick slices for each fish. In particular, the oily textures of salmon and butterfish flesh are delectable.
Also included in the bento an assortment of vegetable tempura (天ぷら). Unfortunately, I feel that the batter is too crumbly. It is not as appetizing as I hoped for.
The chawanmushi (茶碗蒸し) is quite tasty. Shrimps and narutomaki (鳴門まき) are ingredients in the cup of egg custard. On the other hand, the bowl of miso soup (味噌汁) carries a mild sense of sweetness. I personally prefer it to be slightly saltier.
Garlic fried rice (チャーハン) is available for additional RM3.00. Personally, I feel that the rice lacks garlic’s aroma. There is certainly more room for improvement.
